FERRO SANOL duodenal hard capsules contain 100 mg Fe2+ (bivalent iron). They can be taken in case of iron deficiency especially iron deficiency anemia (iron deficiency in the blood). Iron is important in the body for blood formation and oxygen transport, among other things. Iron deficiency often occurs during pregnancy, breastfeeding, low iron diet, acute or chronic blood loss. Iron deficiency may cause symptoms such as fatigue, exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, hair loss, brittle nails and increased susceptibility to infections. FERRO SANOL duodenal hard capsules are well tolerated by the gastrointestinal tract due to the processing (galenics). The "duodenal" in the name of the preparation indicates that the contents of the capsules are released only in the duodenum and thus the stomach is not irritated. Moreover, the contained Fe2+ is well absorbed by the body.

Dosage of FERRO SANOL duodenal hard capsules:

FERRO SANOL duodenal hard capsules can be taken from the age of 6 years (20 kg body weight). The capsules are best taken half an hour before or 2 hours after eating. Alternatively, the capsule can be opened so that only the pellets can be taken. The duration of intake depends on the severity of the anemia and should be discussed with the attending physician.

Children over 6 years (20 kg body weight) and adults: 1 capsule 1 time daily.
In severe forms: Adolescents 12 years and older (body weight of 50 kg) and adults may take 1 capsule 2 to 3 times daily. 

Iron deficiency anemia should be diagnosed and medically clarified before starting therapy with FERRO SANOL duodenal hard capsules.
